Research and monitoring
To ensure we keep improving our environmental performance, we’ve developed a number of research and monitoring projects which help us identify opportunities for improvement.
Examples of current projects include:
- An investigation on the interaction of the Mahogany Glider with our line assets and easements and methods to facilitate their movement through the landscape.
- Effective methods of rehabilitation works on our easements.
- Monitoring wildlife interactions with transmission assets and undertaking research into mitigation strategies.
- Investigating effective weed seed removal and destruction.
- Trialling the use of vetiver grass to stabilise soils and prevent erosion at disturbed areas such as tower sites on transmission line easements.
