Screening your home

The visual effect of transmission lines can be reduced by landscaping with the right kind of trees and plants.

When screening your home from transmission lines:

• Use some of the native species from our Five groups of plants (PDF 56KB) when you are planning your garden.
• Design your screening from critical viewing areas such as an outdoor patio or indoors from a lounge room window.
• Make sure there’s enough space for your plants to grow, including keeping a safe distance from the lines.
• If you’re considering planting on Council property, make sure you contact them first to check it’s OK.
