Connecting to Powerlink's network
Our transmission network is the central link between power stations (where electricity is generated) and electricity distributors (that deliver electricity to households and businesses).
New power stations or high load customers (like smelters or mines) that wish to connect to our network must undergo a detailed connection process which is contained in Grid Australia’s Transmission Network Connection Guidelines.
The process covers five stages:
- pre-feasibility
- enquiry
- application
- connection, and
- commission.
