Queensland Rail (QR) National has requested Powerlink acquire the necessary easements and approvals for the construction of three new transmission lines. These transmission lines—which will be constructed, operated and maintained by Powerlink—will provide high voltage electricity supply to three new QR National substations at Bluff, Duaringa and Wycarbah, and help reinforce the electrified CoalRail network in Central Queensland.
Construction commenced in late October 2011 and is being carried out progressively until mid 2012 (weather permitting). For more information about the projects please refer to the newsletters and notices section below.
