Powerlink Queensland is replacing its existing Runcorn Substation to ensure a reliable supply of high voltage electricity is maintained to the south-eastern suburbs of Brisbane. Construction work for the project will commence in mid December 2011 and will be undertaken on Powerlink-owned land and within the existing substation boundaries.
All construction work will be undertaken in accordance with the project’s approved Environmental Management Plan (EMP) that details strategies and actions to manage any potential environmental matters that may arise, and includes a range of measures to help minimise and manage any noise and dust, and potential traffic impacts.
