Wandoan to Eurombah Transmission Network Project

Overview

Powerlink was engaged by Australia Pacific LNG Pty Limited (APLNG) to supply power to its gas processing facilities near Wandoan. Powerlink established direct connections into the high voltage transmission network via building 100km of new transmission line and constructing four substations.

• Section 1 of the project involved the Yuleba North Substation and a 275kV transmission line to Wandoan South Substation.
• Section 2 involved a 132kV transmission line from Yuleba North Substation to Clifford Creek Substation, and a 132kV transmission line from Yuleba North Substation to a substation at Dinoun South.
• Section 3 involved a 275kV transmission line from Yuleba North Substation to a substation in the Eurombah area.

Status

Project activities commenced in early 2012. Construction started progressively for the new transmission line sections and substations in 2014, with all works completed during 2015.
