Not electrically connected work areas (NECA) procedures
The Queensland Electricity Entity Procedures for Not Electrically Connected Work Area (NECA) apply to all electricity entity employees and contractors who may be associated with planning, designing, constructing, commissioning, operating and maintaining high voltage electrical apparatus owned and operated by Powerlink, Ergon Energy or ENERGEX.
The adoption of these procedures in 2010 follows the Energy Networks Association National Guidelines for Safe Access to Electrical and Mechanical Apparatus and extensive consultation between Powerlink, Ergon Energy and ENERGEX.
The procedures are consistent with the Energy Network Association (ENA) National Guidelines, and support the objectives of the National Electricity Safety Code.
