Procedures for Safe Access to High Voltage Electrical Apparatus (SAHVEA)
The Queensland Electricity Entity Procedures for Safe Access to High Voltage Electrical Apparatus (SAHVEA) form an essential part of providing a safe system of work for everyone accessing the high voltage system.
The procedures’ scope relates to work on or within an authorised person’s electrical exclusion zone (for more information see the Queensland Government’s electrical safety website). It applies to all electricity entity employees and contractors who may be associated with planning, designing, constructing, commissioning, operating and maintaining high voltage electrical apparatus owned and operated by Powerlink, Ergon Energy or ENERGEX.
The procedures are consistent with the Energy Network Association (ENA) National Guidelines, and support the objectives of the National Electricity Safety Code.
