In July 2009, community groups in the Nebo area received a boost in funding as part of Powerlink Queensland's $107,500 Community Benefits Program.
Ten community groups shared in more than $107,500 of funding which will enable them to undertake worthwhile community projects in the area such as purchasing a set of lights for a helipad used by the Nebo SES, installing a shade structure at the Nebo Bowls Club, purchasing exercise equipment for a community gym, providing a mobile cold room for the Isolated Children's Parents Association and installing power at a community Road Safe Rest Stop.
Powerlink's Community Benefits Program aims to provide tangible and lasting benefits to local communities near new transmission lines and to partner with community groups to ensure real benefits are delivered locally.
