Back to Reports

Together with our industry counterparts from across the energy supply chain, we have committed to delivering better energy outcomes for Australia through The Energy Charter.

As a founding signatory, we have now released our fourth Energy Charter Disclosure Statement as an open and honest outline of where we are as a business.

This report on our progress against the Energy Charter principles outlines where our past performance has not been acceptable, and where there are opportunities to improve for our customers.

As an industry, we have voluntarily determined to be more open, accountable and to do more to listen to our customers.

All other Energy Charter signatory disclosure statements can be read on The Energy Charter website.

In 2022, as part of the three-year Strategic Review of the Energy Charter, the CEO Council agreed to decentralise the accountability mechanisms for the Energy Charter process in 2022.

Powerlink actioned this new model by:

  • Engaging its Customer Panel as the primary point of accountability assessment for our disclosure statement
  • Developing foundational accountability structures with our Customer Panel which will be strengthened and advanced in 2023, including:
    • An Energy Charter scorecard
    • Feedback mechanisms
    • Direct engagement with our Chief Executive

The below resources provide a summary of our approach to the new Energy Charter signatory accountability model and how we engaged our Customer Panel through the disclosure process, including the joint CS Energy and Powerlink CEO accountability forum as a particularly notable achievement.
