QUT GEMS is a student-led university society that is dedicated to promoting gender diversity, equity, and inclusivity within the field of engineering.
They strive to reduce the gender gap in the workforce by cultivating connections between industry professionals and students.
They accomplish this through planning and hosting events throughout the year including networking nights, mentoring programs and charity initiatives.
These events are designed to create a supportive environment that encourages individuals from diverse backgrounds to confidently pursue careers in engineering.
Powerlink supports GEMS through professional networking opportunities, career fairs and social events to nurture student industry and academic potential.
This includes participation in the QUT STEM Career Fair, QUT Engineering Careers Fair, as well as excursions and education sessions designed to support students understanding of the power industry.
