Two modular buildings fitted out as part of the $21m Rocklea Substation restoration project were successfully transported to the site last week from Virginia.

Project Manager,  Justin,  said the six-month fitout and delivery of the modules had gone according to plan and was a great milestone for the team.

The new control and telecommunications building will be installed three metres higher than the existing structure to improve flood resilience. The refitted sub-station is expected to be fully operational by late 2018.

Rocklea Substation powers industrial, business and residential areas including Sumner, Archerfield and parts of Brisbane’s CBD, so it is critical these areas have access to a reliable electricity supply.
