Powerlink’s new transmission lines and substations in the North West Surat Basin are now energised and our construction team is passing the baton to our maintenance team to manage our regional assets and engagement with landholders.
Landholder Relations Manager Murray Abel, who was the primary contact for landholders during the construction phase, is in the process of handing over the baton to Peter Dawson in the maintenance team.
“Feedback from landholders during the construction phase was to have one point of contact to manage their queries,” said Powerlink’s Group Manager Field Services Paul Hardcastle.
“A single point of contact proved to be most effective in engaging with landholders and we are keeping this same approach through the maintenance phase.
“Murray is currently in the process of doing a formal handover to Peter to ensure the transition is a smooth process.”
Murray said he had thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Roma community for the past 18 months.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank landholders for working with me and other Powerlink staff during construction. The goodwill extended to us has been a highlight.
“I also can’t think of someone more suitable than Peter Dawson to continue the work here, as he has extensive experience working with landholders across Queensland over many years.
“Peter also has a rural background which assists with the understanding of agri-business from a landholder perspective.
“He also assisted on these Projects for a number of months early on, so he is looking forward to meeting everyone.”
