As part of our projects in the region, we are continuing to work with landholders and other stakeholders in discussing matters that are important to them. Here are some recent questions:

Q. How will Powerlink keep in touch during the maintenance phase?

It’s worth a reminder about how best to keep in touch with us now we’ve moved beyond the construction phase into maintenance.

There are three main Powerlink phone numbers you should note.

For any emergency call such as reporting a fallen powerline, safety incident or vandalism please call 1800 353 031 – this number is available 24/7.

There is also an office hours, general enquiries number - 1800 635 369. If you are unsure who you need to speak to about a query, this is usually the best place to start. Calls to this number can include updating your contact details, questions around safe clearing distances from our infrastructure, retrieving property from a substation and placing your property on the database for helicopter patrol notifications.

There is also a dedicated property search, co-use request and screening your home from powerlines contact number - 07 3866 1313.

As well as these phone numbers you can find out more about a host of Powerlink activities on this website.

If social media is more convenient for your busy lifestyle, stay abreast of our news on Twitter www.twitter.com/powerlinkqld or sign into Facebook on www.facebook.com/pages/Powerlink-Queensland/294505894090825.

You can view our videos and animations on www.youtube.com/user/PowerlinkQLD and if you are interested in our business connections there is a LinkedIn account at www.linkedin.com/company/powerlink-queensland.

Finally, many members of the community will have dealt with Powerlink Landholder Relations Manager Murray Abel and his contact details are 0409 062 139.

Q. What do I need to do if I want to carry out any work on or near a Powerlink easement?

If you’re planning to carry out any work on or near a transmission line easement that is likely to require our written consent, you’ll need to complete a co-use request form. Please read our Management of Easement Co-Use Requests Guideline prior to submitting an application.

You can fill out this form online or download a blank co-use form and return it (completed) to:

Property Services
Powerlink
PO Box 1193
Virginia Queensland 4014

Many activities can continue as normal, however for your safety and the security of electricity supply, there are some activities that are not allowed on, or near, Powerlink easements. If you have any doubts about what you can or can’t do, ask us first!
