Powerlink is committed to fostering positive environment outcomes in partnership with local communities. For over ten years, we have proudly partnered with the Bulimba Creek Catchment Coordinating Committee (B4C) to achieve numerous positive outcomes in the Bulimba Creek catchment area.
Our projects include:
Tree Planting at St Laurence’s College: In collaboration with college students, Powerlink, and B4C, we have planted trees in a vital biodiversity corridor in Runcorn. This initiative also featured guest lectures from Powerlink and B4C, emphasizing the importance of conservation and waterway protection.
Gibson Island Rehabilitation Project: Powerlink team members have continuously supported this project at Murarrie, contributing significant amounts of mulch and hands-on assistance to the site.
Glider Nest Box Program: We have established and repaired glider nest boxes under Powerlink transmission lines to enhance the fauna corridor, supporting local wildlife.
B4C’s Sustainability Centre: Powerlink has played a crucial role in ensuring that the Sustainability Centre remains a valuable environmental and community resource.
Collaborative Environmental Efforts: Together with B4C, we have worked on multiple sites along Bulimba Creek to protect and enhance the local environment.
Through these initiatives, Powerlink demonstrates its unwavering dedication to environmental stewardship and community engagement.
