Powerlink Queensland is proud to be a foundation partner of several Country University Centres (CUC), including Maranoa since 2021, Western Downs as of February 2025, and Hughenden, which is set to open in mid-2025.
CUC’s mission is to empower regional, rural, and remote communities by increasing accessibility to higher education opportunities. These centres provide equitable learning opportunities for students in regional and rural areas, where access to services and support can be challenging. Notably, CUC Maranoa celebrated its 700th student in February 2025, surpassing its forecasted targets.
The CUC model offers free services to students, allowing any student enrolled in an Australian degree program to access the centre.
