Overview
Powerlink has now completed refit work on the existing 275kV Palmwoods to Woolooga transmission line.
The 90 kilometre-long line has been in service for more than 45 years and required refitting to ensure the ongoing safe, reliable and cost effective supply of electricity to the Sunshine Coast region.
The project involved refitting 206 transmission towers. Construction activities included replacing insulators and steelwork (such as nuts and bolts) on the towers.
This refit work has now extended the line’s technical service life by around 20 years.
Powerlink worked closely with landholders within the project footprint to keep them informed of our activities for the duration of this project.
We thank landholders and other stakeholders for their understanding and cooperation while we completed these important works.
