Boulder Creek Wind Farm Connection Project

Overview 

Powerlink is currently undertaking works to connect Boulder Creek Wind Farm, owned by Aula Energy, to the electricity grid.

The transmission connection project involves construction of a new substation to connect into the existing 275kV transmission line between Stanwell and Calvale. 

Status 

Construction of Powerlink’s new Muranu Substation at Boulder Creek is progressing well, with construction works expected to be completed by early 2027. Powerlink is continuing to work closely with Aula Energy as the project progresses toward energisation, which is expected by mid-2027.

About Boulder Creek Wind Farm 

Boulder Creek Wind Farm (Stage 1) is a 228MW wind farm located 40km southwest of Rockhampton and approximately 5km west of Mount Morgan in Central Queensland.
