Members were introduced to Powerlink Queensland’s new Chief Executive, Dr Seán Mc Goldrick, and received updates on major investment activities in Central Queensland, including the Gladstone Project, system strength requirements, and preparations for a contingent project application for four synchronous condensers. Members also received a report back on how their feedback had influenced the design of the upcoming Central Queensland Transmission Network Forum and participated in a customer-led discussion on opportunities and barriers associated with flexible load services. The discussion explored how greater flexibility from transmission-connected customers could potentially reduce future network investment needs and improve network utilisation, while recognising the practical, commercial, and regulatory considerations that would need to be addressed. Members also received an update on the 2027–32 Revenue Proposal and upcoming engagement activities.
