Liz Cunningham

Liz brings more than three decades of leadership experience across local and state government, with a strong focus on governance, community engagement, and regional development.
Liz served as Member for Gladstone in the Queensland Legislative Assembly from 1995 to 2015, where she played a pivotal role in shaping policy and advocating for regional communities. Prior to her State Parliamentary career, Liz spent eight years in Local Government, including five years as Mayor of Calliope Shire and three years as Councillor.
Her extensive experience in government has given her a deep understanding of the critical importance of supply security, particularly in one of Queensland’s largest heavy industry hubs where she has lived and worked. Liz is also a former Board Member of the Local Government Mutual Insurance Pool, contributing to governance and risk management for Queensland Councils.
