Powerlink will hold 12 community drop-in sessions in January and February to allow further community input on the transmission connections for the proposed Borumba Pumped Hydro Project.

Each session is held over a number of hours to allow residents to attend at a time convenient to them. Feedback from community members is that the drop-in format is preferred to a formal presentation in theatre style, to better allow for one-on-one conversations at a property-specific level.

Powerlink has been engaging with stakeholders and the wider community about the transmission connections since mid-2022. In November, Powerlink shared potential corridor options for the project and is currently seeking local insights and feedback on these options.

No final decisions have been made regarding the potential transmission corridors, or the location of the transmission lines or towers.

At this stage the corridor options are approximately four kilometres wide. Once a final study corridor has been selected, we will work with landholders to refine the alignment to be located within a 70-metre easement.

This feedback will then be considered prior to releasing a recommended corridor in late March. More community drop-in sessions will be held in April/May to gain feedback on the recommended corridor.

A final corridor will be released in mid-2023 that will aim to have the least overall impact from a social, environmental and economic perspective.
