State Emergency Service (SES) groups across Far North Queensland have received almost $23,000 worth of much-needed equipment thanks to a continued partnership with Powerlink and Energy Queensland.

The selection of critical equipment handed over to Far North SES groups included thermal imagers, vehicle fridges, CelFi connectivity devices, defibrillators, stretcher trolleys, polesaws, chainsaws, battery boxes, scene lighting and generators.

The handover event in Cairns earlier this month marks just one of eight handover events for new equipment as part of the $200,000 'Energising Queensland SES Equipment Program' for 2020/21.

The partnership between Powerlink, Energy Queensland and the SES has been in place statewide since 2016 and has provided more than one million dollars worth of new equipment to Queensland SES groups.

Powerlink is proud to continue this partnership to deliver vital equipment that makes a positive difference, ensuring Queensland SES volunteers are well-equipped to keep our communities safe in times of need.
