Fourteen Year 12 students, mostly from interstate, dropped into Powerlink yesterday to learn more about the transmission industry.
The visit included presentations by Glenn Stapleton, Greg Hesse, Trevor Jacobs and Tony Ngo. Students got a first-hand look at our emergency response facilities, the Oil Lab and various pieces of transmission equipment.
The 'transmission network 101' session was part of the National Youth Science Forum being held in Brisbane.
The program seeks to connect students interested in science and technology with professionals working in these fields to share their experiences and insights.
The visit has been hailed a success and presenters were impressed with the various questions from the visitors.
