Powerlink Chief Executive Paul Simshauser said the hot and humid conditions across the state were very impactful for Queensland this month.
“The last two days has seen most of Queensland experience sweltering conditions which has seen enormous demand for electricity,” Mr Simshauser said.
“While some residents have lost power due to storms and severe weather, we did not have any outages due to supply issues.
“Reduced generation capacity meant that at times supply levels were tight, but we got through thanks to the help of Queensland households and businesses.
“This afternoon's rain was a reprieve and we hope all members of our incredible Queensland community continue to stay safe.”
Powerlink’s customer safety and wellbeing is important and monitoring the network through this heatwave situation with AEMO, Ergon and Energex will continue.
