Powerlink has been engaged by CS Energy to complete construction works to connect the Lotus Creek Wind Farm Project, located 20km west of St Lawrence in Central Queensland, to the electricity grid.
The connection project includes construction of 14km of new 275kV transmission line and a new Powerlink substation, named Glencoe Substation.
The transmission line will travel east from the Glencoe Substation along St Lawrence Croydon Road and connect to the new CS Energy Lotus Creek Substation.
All planning work, including transmission line corridor selection work, easement acquisition and associated approvals were completed by CS Energy.
The Lotus Creek Wind Farm is owned by CS Energy will consist of 46 wind turbines, and is expected to generate 850,000 megawatt hours per year.

Construction of the transmission towers and substation are well underway, with completion anticipated by late 2025.
Following construction works, testing and commissioning activities are schedule to take place over several months, with the substation and transmission line expected to be energised in Q3 2026.
