Overview

Powerlink has been engaged by Edify Energy to connect its solar farms and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) at Smoky Creek and Guthrie's Gap, located 75km south of Rockhampton and 40km north of Biloela. Once complete, the project is expected to generate up to 1600GWh of energy each year - enough clean, reliable power for more than 244,000 homes.

Powerlink's scope includes building a switchyard (next to a smaller substation to be constructed by the customer) and the transmission infrastructure needed to connect the project into the existing transmission line between Stanwell Substation (near Rockhampton) and Calvale Substation (near Biloela).
